My family entered plastics distribution and fabrication in 1968. Dad listened to the guy in "The Graduate" and bought in. I was a teen with access to a shop filled with Plexiglas® Acrylic sheets, Lexan®, Plastic Sheets & Fiberglass sheet. Add UHMW, PTFE, plastic glue, Multiwall polycarbonate, Seaboard, architectural and engineering plastics. 40 years later I educate our team on new materials and processes - to customers worldwide. It’s new every day.

There are a number of companies that have encapsulated material in sheets of Acrylic. Particularly where the sheets are thin, let us say around 1/8", is the material cell cast?
ReplyDeleteThe typical plastic distributor will sell extruded acrylic and it will not be labeled. However, if it is CAST, then it will normally be clearly labeled. It's common that customers ask for CAST and we stock cast in .030, .118, .236, and up. Not much call for .060 thick.
